THE DANCER IS BACK!!!
And it seems that the british are willing to beat the excessive heatwave buying and drinking the spring water brand that is using RHYTHM IS A DANCER by Snap! as part of its TV ad.
Based in the fact that our brain is 75% water, the funny spot features the puppet character "Brains" from the mid 60's show Thunderbirds.
Hmmm... He looks very familiar to me in this picture...
The advert depicts the little guy dancing, he then takes a sip of the water and dances better than before.

Even when I still don't get that "I'm serious as cancer when I say Rhythm is a dancer" part, I thinks is such a cool thing to see how old favorite songs are having a revival thanks to creative TV commercials.
Remember the gorilla drumming to the Phil Collins' "In the air tonight"? Already a classic!!!

...ON HOW STUPID I AM
With many reasons to celebrate this pride month (Coming out to my family as the most important), I decided to visit the City of Brotherly Love for this year's parade and festival.
Early sunday morning I took the bus in chinatown for a 20 bucks round trip fare.
The more than 96 degrees afternoon was a pleasant and fun time where I found myself dancing, drinking, meeting people and celebrating my pride in this colourful event.
On my way back to New York, early monday morning, the bus driver decided to stop in a NJ Turnpike Travel Plaza. Without saying a single word to the passengers, this anal chinese man leave the bus and get inside the service area.
Being aware of this short but necessary stop, a small group of travellers(including myself) decided to follow the driver and get some refreshments for the remaining of the trip.
A couple minutes later (not even 4) I realized that THE BUS (WITH MY BACKPACK LEFT ON THE SEAT) WAS GONE!!!First thing that came to my mind was my Ipod and then my wallet (in that order).
Thank god that I was listening to some music when I decided to go inside the plaza to buy some water.
Motivated for the faith in getting our belongings as soon as we get to New York, Me and another forgotten soul, an indian guy named "Z", got a ride from a road trooper to the closest NJ train station.
A Path ride and a couple NYC cabs later we got to the bus station office in chinatown where a rude and indecipherable asian lady was waiting empty handed for us.
Cellphone, Digital camera and a couple cool clothes R.I.P. now in thieves land.
The moral of the story? NONE!! Just call me Stupid!!

I'M SO BUSTED!!!
And even when I feel like a million dollar and ready for an extra dosis of blogging, this thing that is happening to me is surreal!!
So as you know, I went to sunny Florida to have an emotional encounter with my mama after 6 years of not seeing her. I spent an amazing time with her and my aunts during the mother's day weekend.
My mission for this trip besides this quality time spent in Florida was to come out to my mom and have a long and friendly conversation with her.
Well, unfortunately I couldn't find a mother/son time during this trip and I blame it on all the million relatives and family friends that my mama introduced me to.
This is a latin thing, you know! Even when I'm not related to these persons I found myself having more than 20 tias (aunts) and a thousand of primos (cousins).
Back in NY, I found myself a little dissapointed but fully convinced that it was not the right time for me to confess this little secret.
Well, as you know, destiny acts in very strange ways and this weekend in Lima, Peru while my super nice sister (which is also a modern and cool mom) was creating her profile on myspace, she browsed my name and then found my profile on that popular site.
Big and incredible was her surprise when Ana found out that her brother Jorge's sexual orientation is GAY .
Early this morning I found her email asking me for the truth and nothing else than the naked truth.
I couldn't lie to her! For more than 10 years I've been true to myself and today June 2nd has been one of the most important days of my life when I confessed to my sister (by email) that I am a gay man living in NY.
Everything is COOL!! Ana has become my good friend and confident(one more time and after more than 25 years of not having a close and friendly relationship).
La Mama is next... Things can only get better...
PS:I still feel so kooky for coming out to my sister "on-line".These are definitely modern times!! I wonder what's next? Getting fired or quitting your job on youtube?
HAPPY PRIDE MONTH TO EVERYONE!!
